To be successful as a freelance journalist you have to be passionate about writing! I am, writing is a passion of mine.

Writing stories of importance, highlighting the innovative and creative, giving a voice to those who can’t and meeting interesting people helps me to live my passion daily.

I live on the South Australian coast, it’s really a way life and the lifestyle is the main reason I don’t move back to the city to pursue possible opportunities.

It is such a privilege to work and live near the beach. The ocean is another passion of mine, the way it makes you feel and the inspiration it gives me is sometimes something I find hard to explain.

I have been working as a journalist now for five years, after two years at a coastal newspaper as the sole journalist I went out on my own and have since been working solidly in the industry.

I’m not going to lie, it is often hard to just rely on a freelance wage (but let’s face it who becomes a freelance anything for the money?).

I am also an early childhood teacher – I love children, their imagination and outlook on the world is infectious. A four-year-old really knows how to put some trivial things in perspective!!

Make sure you keep checking back in to see what I have been up to…

Apart from writing features and news articles for print and online, I can help with website content, blog posts, newsletters, copy for advertising and marketing campaigns, advertorials, press releases, brochures and flyers, reviews, social media and editing.
